Macromedia Flash mx realistic sphere - Flash ball or Flash orb

You may have seen many realistic sphere or ball alike creating in Adobe Photoshop in other websites. Today, we are going to create a flash sphere using flash mx. After completing this tutorial, you will understand better the usage of flash Fill Transform Tool.

Here is what we are going to create by the end of this flash mx sphere tutorial:



1- Create a new flash movie with size of 120 x 120.

2- Select Oval Tool Flash Oval Tool or press O on your keyboard.

3- Change the 'stroke color' to none.

4- Change the 'Fill Color' to gradient of two color: #00CCFF and #000000 by
> Click on the 'Fill Color'

> Under color Mixer panel. Change the drop down list to 'Radial'.

> Click on the left color picker and change the color hex number to #00CCFF.

> Click on the right color picker and change the color hex number to #000000.

5- Now we are ready to begin our flash sphere tutorial. With the Oval Tool still selected create a circle with radius of around 100 px. You may hold down Shift + Click and Drag to create a round circle in flash mx.

6- Select flash Fill Transform Tool Flash Fill Transform Tool or press F on your keyboard.

7- Click on the circle you just created. You will get something like this in the flash mx stage window.

Notice that there are three small circles and one small rectangle. These are the controls we can play with to adjust the color depth for our flash sphere.

8- Click and drag the middle circle among the two small circles and one rectangle outward until you get something like this

9- Click and drag the middle circle in the centre to the top right corner of the main flash sphere until you get desire position.

10- Our flash sphere is ready. Press Ctrl+Enter to test the new flash ball.

In summary, to create a realistic flash sphere flash ball or flash orb, the flash Fill Transform Tool comes very handy.
